Description
Location. The 18th century First Hotel Reisen is located on the waterfront in the Old Town of Stockholm, Sweden, within 300 metres of the Royal Palace and 500 metres from the Museum of Modern Art. The National Museum and Museum of Modern Art are 500 metres away.
Hotel Features. First Hotel Reisen is a waterfront property on a cobbled street. The maritime themed lobby features nautical clocks, model ships, dark wood panelling and Oriental lamps. There is a library lounge with modern and classic Swedish books, and a gift cabinet selling crystal goods and souvenirs. Concierge services and a currency exchange are available.
Reisen Bar and Matsal offers waterfront views and is decorated with historical prints, including old photographs of the hotel. The restaurant serves traditional Swedish dishes such as three types of herring with cheese, salmon and lemon. The travel themed Reisen Bar and Lounge features the building's original brick wall, Chesterfield sofas, and antiques from India and China. Cocktails and light meals are served, and there is a DJ in the summer.
There is a meeting room and breakout room with the original interior of a 1910 ship. Meeting facilities for up to 218 people are available in the conference boat, moored opposite the entrance.
A vaulted cellar dating back to 1690 now houses First Hotel Reisen's relaxation suite, with a plunge pool and single sex saunas.
Guestrooms. The First Hotel Reisen's 144 climate controlled guestrooms feature pastel shades with floral curtains, wooden floors and Indian style rugs. All have views of the waterfront or Old Town. Rooms feature satellite television, wireless and high speed Internet access, minibars and hardback Stockholm guidebooks. White tiled bathrooms have chrome fittings, bath/shower combinations and designer toiletries. In room massages are available.

Distance to First Hotel Reisen is 45 kilometres, approximately 45 minutes' drive.
Getting there. The Arlanda Express train runs between the airport and Stockholm central station. The journey time is 20 minutes, and single tickets cost 200 SEK. Trains depart from the underground railway station. Flygbussarna airport coaches run between terminals 2, 4 and 5 and central Stockholm every 10 minutes at peak times. Buses to many other destinations are also available. Taxi rank officers are available to guide passengers to a variety of taxis, including environmentally friendly cars. Taxis to the city centre cost about 400 SEK. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. The hotel is located on Skeppsbron in Stockholm's Old Town. Stockholm city centre is easy to explore on foot, and has many pedestrianised streets. The city is served by an extensive bus network and metro (T Banen) system, and trams run throughout parts of the city. Tickets are valid for 60 minutes and cost 30 SEK. Some islands in the city's archipelago are linked by boats in the summer months. Taxi fares can be very expensive. Valet parking is available (surcharge).
Driving directions. From Stockholm Arlanda Airport:
Follow signs for the E4, heading towards Stockholm centre.
Take Klarastrandsleden to Tegelbacken.
Turn left into Fredsgatan, and then right at Gustav Adolfs Torg square, crossing the river via the Norrbro bridge.
Turn left into Slottskajen and then right into Skeppsbron.
